The role
The role of a Conference Producer at Solar Media Ltd is challenging but highly rewarding, offering significant opportunities for growth. As a Conference Producer, you would be responsible for the intellectual content and growth of around 4-5 international events focused on decarbonizing the energy supply and promoting renewable energy. Additionally, you would produce promotional content such as articles, webinars, podcasts, interviews, and round tables to support these events.

Qualifications:
- Passion for limiting climate change/renewable energy: A strong passion for renewable energy, environmental policy, or the transition to a low carbon future is essential. Ideally, you should have studied low carbon technology, environmental policy, or a related field at the degree level or above, or possess relevant experience in your current job.
- Natural connector: You should enjoy networking, connecting with new people, and conducting qualitative research through face-to-face and telephone conversations. Being able to collect ideas and understand how things work is crucial for this role.
- Intelligence and analytical skills: As a fast learner, you should be able to gather information and connect the dots to make predictions, draw future connections, and understand technical issues related to clean energy.
- High level of integrity and customer-centric mindset: Demonstrating a desire to deliver a best-in-class customer experience is important. You should be able to gather customer requirements and translate them into products or events that truly make a difference in people's day-to-day work.
- Leadership potential: You should have the ability to work with and motivate a team, lending support, and collaborating with colleagues or partners to deliver projects and help them learn and grow.
Key Tasks:
- Event research: Conducting 40 initial research calls to identify key market participants throughout the clean energy value chain.
- Event briefs for Sales and Marketing teams: Using primary research findings to provide detailed and engaging briefs to the marketing and sales teams, ensuring they understand the key selling points of each event.
- Event program development: Using primary research, structuring an exciting program with unique selling points (USPs), including relevant and topical information to engage delegates and provide sponsored presentation or panel opportunities.
- Securing senior-level speakers: Taking responsibility for securing speakers within given deadlines, aiming for exciting keynotes, early speaker bookings, and a minimum of 30% female speakers while promoting diverse voices.
- Excellent time management: Working within an 8-week production cycle, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines. Securing a minimum of 65 speakers for a 2-day, single-streamed event.
- Marketing and website copy: Creating event marketing copy for various promotional materials.
- Project management: Overseeing the end-to-end management of events, ensuring smooth execution and delivery.
- Mentoring junior team members: Sharing best practices and providing mentorship to junior staff, enabling them to benefit from your experiences.
- Topic generation: Contributing entrepreneurial ideas to help grow the events business, while receiving guidance and support from the company.
- Learning and training: Engaging in a structured succession plan designed to sharpen existing skills, acquire new ones, and progress into more senior roles based on individual successes.
